UUAP AND EAP ALLIANCE

In October 2022, at the invitation of the then President of EAP Patricia Hunt FRSA, senior members of the Executive of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) started to meet regularly with senior members of the Ukrainian Umbrella Association of Psychotherapy (UUAP).  The aim was, and still is, to provide support to Ukrainian Psychotherapists in this terrible time of war.  When EAP asked “What help can we give you?”, the answer was “Please help us to organise Symposiums for Ukrainian Psychotherapists to support them in their work during the war”.

Dear colleagues, we invite you to have a look at the special issue of the International Journal of Psychotherapy dedicated to Ukraine.

Marzena Rusanowska, Co-Editor of the journal, wrote in the Editorial, that this issue is truly special and holds a profound place in her heart. Working alongside the authors and contributing to these articles has been a personal journey of healing from the fear, terror, and trauma of the war in Ukraine. The creation of this issue was fueled by the sheer energy of determined and suffering hearts.

The International Journal of Psychotherapy is a peer-reviewed, scientific journal and is published three times a year by the European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP).

We are also sharing with you a beautiful film recorded by our Ukrainian colleagues — supervisors and psychotherapists —  who are the authors of the articles published in this issue.

Our Sixth Symposium included a Sociodrama, which was conducted by two experts in the field of Sociodrama in Ukraine – Olena Stupak and Anastasia Sklyaruk. More than 1200 delegates registered for the Symposium from Ukraine, and from all over the World.
